Modern Times is an album by Bob Dylan, set to be released on August 29, 2006 by Sony BMG. It will be his forty-fourth album (including live releases).

Anticipation

Given Dylan's renewed critical favor following 1997's Time Out of Mind, and his stature as one of rock's greatest songwriters, Modern Times is a highly anticipated effort. As with his previous album, "Love and Theft", Sony has played the finished album for prominent rock critics at special listening events. Those in attendance are legally forbidden to discuss any details of the album in public, though some vague descriptions have been leaked. Of the vague descriptions includes a remark that there are "...at least 3 masterpieces..." on the album.
